Plants are stocky, without tendrils. The majority of pods set in lower portion of the plant. Pods and seeds slightly smaller than Regular Ford- hook. Very prolific.
FORDHOOK 242 BUSH 70 Days
A top ranking All-American vegetable. A bronze medal winner, developed by the U.S.D.A. and released in 1942. Fordhook 242 is similar to regu- lar Fordhook, differing from it chiefly in that pods are shorter and uniformly curved. Pods contain a very high percentage of four beans and shelled bean is identical with regular Fordhook. Out- standing characteristic of 242 is its ability to set under adverse weather conditions, particularly high temperatures. Consistently 242 has out- yielded regular Fordhook at a three to two rate. Quality is excellent. Recommended for freezing.

An outstanding new yellow hybrid developed by Dr. E. S. Haber of Iowa State College. Iochief has top rating on basis of yield and cutting per- centage. Excellent performance under drought conditions. Good flavor and tenderness.
Stalk 7-7 ft. and virtually tillerless, with ears set well up on stalk for ease in harvesting. Ears are 82-9 inches long, cylindrical, filled to tips, and with 16-20 rows of very deep, narrow ker- nels. Good, uniform color and high gloss carries well down sides of kernels. A clean silker.
